Stone Green: The Must-Have Heritage Hue for Your Home

A Colour Consultant's Insight

Welcome to my vibrant corner of the internet! As your trusted guide in all things paint and wallpaper, I’m delighted to have you here. Whether you’re navigating the endless choices from renowned brands like Farrow & Ball and Sanderson or simply seeking a splash of inspiration for your next project, you’re in the right place.

Navigating the World of Colours

Let’s face it: the world of paint and wallpaper can be overwhelming. With so many stunning options available, how do you find the perfect shade for your space? That’s where I come in. My role is to help you cut through the clutter and guide you toward a curated selection of colours and designs that reflect your style and needs.

Weekly Colour Spotlight

Every week, I’ll share a standout colour or eye-catching wallpaper that’s caught my attention. This week, let's explore a shade that's set to take the upcoming season by storm: Stone Green by Dulux Heritage.

Why Stone Green is the Colour of the Season

Dulux’s Heritage line is their premium range, offering two exquisite finishes: Velvet Matt for walls and Velvet Eggshell for woodwork. Inspired by historic palettes dating back to 1931, the Heritage collection, launched in 2021, adds a sophisticated edge to this well-known brand.

Stone Green is a mid grey-green tone that’s both soft and elegant, making it a perfect transitional colour—not just from Autumn to Winter, but also for those shifting from cooler grey schemes to warmer, neutral tones. Despite its green hue, it’s wonderfully understated and elevates everything around it. Stone Green truly shines in north-facing spaces that don’t receive much natural light, allowing its green undertones to come alive.

Pairing Stone Green with Other Shades

I have a hunch that Stone Green and similar tones will dominate this season. Here are a few complementary shades from the Heritage family that will elevate this stunning hue:

  • Cherry Truffle by Heritage: I adore deep, rich cola tones, and Cherry Truffle is a standout. Its deep, understated red tones beautifully enhance the warmth of Stone Green. It’s an ideal choice for a feature wall in a cosy snug or to add drama to a dining room.

  • Waxed Khaki by Heritage: If you’re looking to maintain a green palette for a more monochromatic look, Waxed Khaki is the perfect partner. Use it on kitchen walls alongside Stone Green on your units to create a cohesive, nature-inspired vibe.

Extra Tip: For the perfect off-white to complement these shades, look no further than Chalk White by Heritage—a crisp white that really makes these colours pop!
