Weekly Colour Spotlight

Each week, I’ll be sharing a standout colour or eye-catching wallpaper that’s piqued my interest. This week, I’ve been diving into the comprehensive colour collection of Benjamin Moore Paints. The shade that drives most people crazy trying to perfect is the elusive "perfect white," and I have found my favourite: Navajo White OC-95. This stunningly warm, cream white is exactly what Irish walls are craving after a less-than-sunny summer.

The Warm White Your Home is Missing: Navajo White by Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore may be one of the United States' biggest paint brands, but did you know that Benjamin Moore himself was a proud Irishman? Benjamin and his brother Robert set up their paint company in 1883 in Brooklyn after emigrating from Ireland in 1872. But enough history—let’s get back to colour!

With over 3,500 colours to choose from, navigating Benjamin Moore’s off-whites can be daunting. To me, Navajo White is the perfect warm white to complement any space. With a delicate yellow undertone, it adds both brightness and warmth. One of the perks of Benjamin Moore paints is that they are self-undercoating and multi-surface, meaning you can use a single tin on walls and woodwork alike. I recommend using Navajo White on both to create a soft, warm, and cohesive feel throughout your space. In recent weeks, I’ve noticed a shift towards warm neutrals that create a welcoming atmosphere, and Navajo White fits the bill perfectly.

Pairing Navajo White OC-95 with Other Shades

Since Navajo White is a gentle off-white, it pairs beautifully with a variety of shades. Here are a couple of suggestions to really make this stunning colour shine:

  • Nantucket Gray HC-111: Despite its name, Nantucket Gray is a beautiful green with an earthy, ash undertone that subtly reflects nature. It’s the ideal way to introduce gentle colour without overpowering Navajo White. For a bright yet personality-filled room, consider using Navajo White on the walls and Nantucket Gray on the woodwork and doors to bring out the best in both shades.

  • Caponata AF-650: Caponata is one of my personal favourites from the entire Benjamin Moore collection—I have yet to find a space where this rich purple-brown doesn’t work. Acting as a dark neutral with a twist, Caponata’s warm undertones reflect the elegance of mahogany furniture, making it timeless and perfect for traditional settings. It’s especially stunning in kitchens. For a bold statement, try painting the walls and main units in Navajo White, with Caponata on the island to create a show-stopping focal point.
